Fake News & Dirty Politics

A note about this X post and the frustrating reply 🤦🏻‍♀️
A note about this X post and the frustrating reply 🤦🏻‍♀️

Every time someone posts something that supports my campaign on social media, the Democratic Party machine minions are ready with a hit piece the Eagle did last year to thwart my campaign. I want to address this for those who still have critical thinking skills and aren’t hypnotized by the machine media complex. 🐑

Let me preface by saying this social media post did not come from my team. I do not know who the poster is personally, but we follow each other. I did not ask anyone to post this for me. I do not necessarily agree that the bar associations are “MAGA funded”. I do take issue with their ratings process though, and will post more on that shortly.

Many folks have asked why I didn’t sue Jacob Kaye (the article author and editor of that newspaper) for defamation. I have practiced in this area of the law and want to point out that the article is peppered with qualifiers like “seemingly” and “apparently” which likely negate liability. Even the minion who recently reposted the article in the graphic above has been prepped to use the term “seemed”.

Moreover, there is a higher standard for speech involving public figures like politicians and political candidates. To win a defamation lawsuit regarding a public figure, I would have to demonstrate that Kaye acted with "actual malice," meaning he knew the statement was false or acted with reckless disregard for the truth. This is nearly impossible to overcome to make a case.

This strict standard is actually a good thing to protect our journalists who serve as the de facto 4th check on the other three branches of government. However, it also protects bad actors who can make up half-truths and twisted facts to attack someone disfavored.

If you look at the graphic they published, it deceptively makes it look like I responded to a poster by the name of Alex Bruesewitz. I do not know this person, never followed this person, and they don’t follow me. What I was responding to was a larger conversation with veterans about the constitutional remedies for treason. This was conveniently left out to isolate my tweet in a way that put it in the worst light possible.

Is this worthy of front page news??? 🤦🏻‍♀️

As for the tweet above, does this look like a direct response to the original post to you? It was truncated and the larger conversation I was having with my respected veteran followers was entirely deleted. I practice constitutional law; this is not my personal opinion, it’s right there in the Constitution. You can look it up for yourself in Article II, Section 4 (Impeachment Clause) and Article III, Section 3 (the Treason Clause).

The article also outrageously paints me as “transphobic” because I objected to child sexual abuse materials (CSAM) in our public schools. This book was mischaracterized as an award winning trans affirmation book. There is absolutely nothing affirming about sexually grooming and assaulting children! The comment I made was on a screenshot someone posted from one of the pages of that book depicting a child giving oral sex to an adult male. That’s a HARD NO from me! I will never acknowledge minor attracted persons (MAP) as part of the LGBTQ rainbow! 🌈 Pedophilia has no place in a civilized society.

I have received some rather hostile emails lately from people claiming to have randomly come across this smear article, falsely accusing me of never addressing the lies in that article. Here is a contemporaneous post on Facebook from a supporter in Jackson Heights that knew the article was garbage. She reposted the response I tweeted to Danny Dromm, whom I have greatly admired as a fellow former educator in the UFT:

And I want to include a reposted response by my good friend, Ricardo Pacheco, who’s running for City Council D25:

Now for the critical thinking part. Why would a newspaper devote a front page, full color, two-page spread to a judicial candidate’s Twitter? Let’s be real, people barely care about this race. Why did they go after me so hard?

Why are they still using a year-old article to try to derail my current campaign? Even my opponent has a post on her Facebook linking to the article, as if she believes it will conceal the fact that she has no litigation experience in Queens Civil Court.

They must’ve done a deep dive on my background and all they could muster was some old tweets, and even those were twisted into something they weren’t. My opponent apparently wants this judgeship so bad, she seemingly doesn’t care whether that article is true or not.

I’m the only judicial candidate who didn’t scrub my social media accounts. Why? I want folks to see who I am. You need to know who you are voting for. If you want to look at my X posts, all you have to do is request to follow (politely - if you’re sending me hostile messages, I won’t respond). I no longer have that account open because Jacob Kaye has left me feeling frankly violated. But I have nothing to hide. I am who I am: a free-thinking, independent minded person who will be a fair and impartial jurist. ⚖️
